In this course, I have learned a lot about myself. This course has helped me in getting more organized and in getting me to think more about the details of my papers. I learned this while in the third paper when I needed to add details to the paragraphs and when I needed to thoroughly explain a quote. I thought more about my own ideas and how I could intergrate a quote. And that is something that I never really done in any paper. I did this because I really enjoyed what we were writing about but mostly because I actually understood what I needed to do.

Using the blog throughout the semester was very helpful. It definitely helped with putting my ideas together and really thinking about what it was that that I needed to do in my paper. For example, while using the blog, I would write about what I still needed to do and it helped me in giving me ideas for my papers. It definitely helped me with the revision process for all my assignments. It helped me think that I should try to phrase so and so a different way or that I should add some more details so such sentence and most of all, it helped with keeping me organized.

When it comes to unknown or indie artist, I am not very knowledgeable. I'll admit that I am a bit ignorant when it comes to music. All I ever listen to is what plays on the radio. So with this assignment, I had a little bit of trouble coming up with an artist that I could research. So, I went to the person that I know would be perfect for helping me out with this. We talked a little bit about who I could research. He gave me a couple of names and then he stated that I should choose Muse. He told a little bit about them and then lent me an album and sent on my way. So I decided to the British group, who is also compared to Radiohead, Muse.

What is left for you to do in order to complete your paper? How do you know this? What failures do you see in the paper? What successes? How can you tell? When you are completed, visit the blogs of your group and leave them a comment. Your comment should engage or further one of the ideas they brought in their blog. Your comment may also engage something you discussed in your own blog. The idea is to learn from each other.

I actually have a couple of things that I need to get done. I am having trouble writing this paper because I really don’t have an idea of what I need to do. It is hard trying to write a paper without having a thesis in mind of what I could talk about. What I learned from class discussion was that I basically had to write down the process that I used while researching my topic, which is The Beatles. So in the paper, that is what I need to do. I need to write down where I am getting my information from and what I think about it and then I can go from there. I know this from the last class discussion when we had peer review. My classmate told me that I had to write down all those all type of information and proceed. Failures in the paper, I believe will be in what will consist of my opinion. I know I will have a hard time writing about that and some successes will be in the research involved. I will probably have enough research but not enough of my opinion. That has always been one of my weaknesses.

How do you plan on using sources differently for this essay? If your goal is to make the sources talk to each other, what sort of sources do you think you will need? Explain. When you are completed, visit the blogs of your group and leave them a comment. Your comment should engage or further one of the ideas they brought up in their blog. Your comment may also engage something you discussed in your own blog. The idea is to learn from each other.

I plan on using the sources for this paper as a way to help me guide me through this assignment. I think that I will take the sources and use them as a learning ground. I will take each source and see where each comes from and see why they stand by that point. I will take the sources and compare them and ask myself “Do I agree with this?” I will then take each source and put them away and ask myself then “What do I think? What is the conclusion that I have arrived at by using all these sources?” I think that the sources that I will need to use will be the ones that come from the artist main web page and I will go from there and see what the fans have written about the albums and songs. That way I could see what the fans think and I could definitely help me with the body and conclusion of this assignment.

How do you see yourself using the skills we learned in Paper 1 and 2 for the Exploratory Essay? Do you think rhetorical analysis or evaluation has a place for exploratory writing? Explain? When you are completed, visit the blogs of your group and leave them a comment. Your comment should engage or further one of the ideas they brought up in their blog. Your comment may also engage something you discussed in your own blog. The idea is to learn from each other.

In this paper, I see myself using the skills that I have learned and apply it to the paper. I can definitely use meta-commentary in this paper as well as an evaluation. With the use of these skills, it can help me develop my ideas and can help with the flow of the paper. Rhetorical analysis may not be a device I could use but I could use the idea of it. I mean, it could help with the way I write the paper. Doing an evaluation can help me with how I view the album and how other views it as well. It can help with the way I might arrive at the conclusion.

How do you see revision in the process of writing? If writing contains the following: inventing an idea, revising drafts, and turning in the final process; how important would you rate revision? Is it the most important aspect of writing? The least? Why? When you are completed, visits the blogs of your group and leave them a comment. Your comment should engage or further one of the ideas they brought up in their blogs. Your comment may also engage something you discussed in your own blog. The idea is to learn from each other.

Revision in the writing process, I believe that it a very important process. Revision can really help improve your writing and make your work better. With the revision, one could notice the mistakes that have been done, and could go back and change it. Even with the final draft, revisions could be made. Revisions can be use at all times.

I would rate revision very high in the scale. Revision is one of the important aspects of writing. Without revision, everything will be in total chaos.

I will be using meta-commentary to help me keep my main points in focus and continue my argument. I think that using them, will help me and my readers understand my point of view and what I am trying to say. I will especially use meta-commentary at the end of each paragraph as if to summarize what I just said and in the beginning of a paragraph to explain what I will be talking about. Also, I will especially use it in the conclusion to write about the so what? method.

The meta-commentary is a device that I will definitely take with me to other classes. It is a device that, like I mentioned above, that can help me keep my main points in focus and keep the argument flowing in a good structure. This device can help me out in any type of subject and help the reader as well. You can use this device in any way that you might need it and it will help you in thinking of anything that you think might be missing from your paper.

My weaknesses as a writer are in the structure and in details. I have a lot of trouble in making sure that the main points come across and for them to make sense. Sometimes when I’m doing a paper, the flow of the paper does not make sense and I have to go back and fix it. Doing that takes time, sometimes, which I don’t have a lot of, considering most of the time I start papers late. When it comes to details, that is probably one of my biggest weaknesses. I could have all the information and research done and written, but it not enough to write enough pages. So when it comes to details, I struggle with it because I think that I have added enough details, when in reality, it needs more.

I am hoping that with peer review, and with this paper, my peers can tell me what is that I am doing wrong and to tell what I can improve with both the structure and details. I am also hoping to improve the time when I do start writing my paper. Luckily I have started doing research early and thought about my paper and I am hoping that with paper 2 I can add details where it needed and fix whatever I need to fix. I am slowly trying to improve my writing in this class and I hope that by the end of the semester I can say that I did learn something from this class as well as enjoyed it.

For the first paper, some of the finishing touches that I need to add include re-writing the first paragraph. During peer review, my classmate told me that, even thought the paragraph was good and clear, I needed to create a catchy introduction. So I am trying to follow some of the advice that I was given by both my classmates. I am also trying to give more detailed explanations of the rhetorical devices that I am using for the song. I am trying to make the thesis statement make sense and that it is clear. I am also making sure that the flow of the paragraph is clear and that the transition is not confusing.

By trying to give more detailed explanations of the rhetorical devices used, I am hoping in making the paper at least five pages. So far I only have three pages. My vision for the final draft is for it to be done according to the professor’s rules and expectations. I am hoping that with this paper, I can improve the way I write and most importantly, organize my ideas and how I go about with them in the paper. I am hoping to show the professor an improvement in my writing as the semester progress and to show myself as well.

At first, I thought that writing this paper would be easy. That I could easily write this and be done with it. However, I am having trouble using rhetorical devices. Every time I think I have an idea on how to proceed, I notice that I am doing a literary analysis. It hard trying to get rid of the habit. I've been using that approach for so long that it takes some time to get rid of it. I am trying to find a rhetorical device that goes with the song and the only thing that I can come up with is repetition; but it so obvious because it a song and it have a chorus.
However, I am thinking about using the sample of the paper on Reba McEntire. I figure since it the first paper, that I could use it as a way to write my paper; to give me some ideas. Hopefully, by the end of this paper, I won’t have to use a sample and can go from my own ideas
. I am hoping to use the sources that were given on the assignment page and go from there. I’ll probably check the artist's webpage and see if there are any links that might take me to find more information on the artist.
I chose John Mayer’s “Waiting on the World to Change” because it deals with today’s generation. It something that affects us, the generation that many considers to be self-absorb or the technological generation. I feel that I could have a lot to say about it and I hope to learn a lot from it too as well.

When it comes to writing, I usually try everything in my power to put it off for as long as possible. Writing is not my best suit and I usually dread writing a paper. My weakness when it comes to writing is that I cannot put all of my thoughts and idea together long enough for it to make sense. When I'm writing a paper, ideas come to me when I am not there yet. I hope to improve that during this class. I hope to try and get all of my ideas together, ahead of time and write a paper where all of my ideas come together as one. I would also like to work on improving when I start my paper. I have a tendency of starting my papers late and usually struggling to put all of those ideas together at the last minute.
By the end of the semester, I hope to accomplish putting all of those ideas together as one and I hope to make sense while getting my point across. With that, I hope to learn to start working on my papers early in order to accomplish the above. Even though writing may not be a favorite pastime, I hope to improve it in order to be successful in the future and to benefit from it as well in the professional sphere. Hopefully, once I improve my writing, I might enjoy it the future and consider writing as a way to express and learn about myself.
